Rejang Dance, Masse Girls Dance in Bali

Rejang dance is a dance performed by masse girls, her dance movements are very simple (unadorned) that is usually danced in the temple during the course of a ceremony. This dance is performed with great feeling hydrated, full of devotion to Lord goddess. The dancers dressed in ceremonial attire, dance to march circling the temple courtyard or Pelinggih are sometimes done by holding hands. Rejang dance in some places also called "Ngeremas or Sutri".


Rejang dance Types include: Rejang Renteng, Rejang Bengkell, Rejang Ayodpadi, Rejang Galuh, Rejang Dewa and others. In the village of Tenganan are Rejang Palak dance, Rejang Membingin, followed by Rejang Makitut, and Rejang Dewa. Rejang dance in Tenganan accompanied by "gambelan selonding" (Balinese traditional music) are usually performed in a ceremony called the "Aci Kasa".
